WordPress Search Engine Term I Saw Today

So … there have been a couple people that I have seen blog about what shows up in the Search Engine Term section of the Status page in WordPress.

I myself have wondered a lot about how my blog gets linked to some of these odd terms.  But I think I have been mistaken in my understanding of what is happening.

I used to think that when someone looks up a term in Google or something, if it linked to your blog and the person clicked it, then that is what showed up in the Search Engine Term area.

But now I am thinking I have been mistaken.  Because … there is a search engine term on my Status page that is confusing me lol.  How did it get there?  How did the searcher place it there?

But it is a good confused I think.  At least the search term made me smile.  A lot.

I am not sure exactly who did this … I have a couple guesses.  But … regardless who did it …

Thank you.  You made me feel wonderfully special.  Thank you so very much :)

  1. OMGolly! That made ME smile! And I believe you are correct. If someone uses a search engine like Google, and searches for a term and your blog shows up and they click on it from there, it comes up as the search term. I would say someone really likes you and your blog! I don’t blame them!!! :)

  2. I wish I knew how to do that! How fun.

  3. Did you put that search term into Google yourself? Some of the terms that show up in mine reports are amazing — I am saving a list of the better ones for an article I’ll post later.

    • Some that I have seen are ‘normal’ … some are downright bizarre…some are rude. But this one made me smile.

And damnit about putting that one in myself lol. pffft. I will put one in for you soon hahaha

  4. Tee hee! The last time I typed such long search terms in Google was to find the title of a song, so I inserted the lyrics into google! Maybe you could turn your search terms into songs! xD

  5. That’s awesome. :)

  6. I wish I was the one clever enough to have done that… but alas it was someone else…

  7. Twasn’t I sadly…but what a wonderful way of finding the Irish Katie that we all love :-) xxx
